The most horrific i’ve seen (megan is missing, a serbian film etc) weren’t even good movies but they are the most horrific so they succeed in that aspect i guess

It’s the Godfather of horror films as far as I’m concerned. A cult classic masterpiece and arguably Kubrick’s best. I can never get bored of rewatching it.

I agree with John Carpenter’s Halloween, that’s up there too.

The whole kind of sub-plot of Jack abusing his son is VERY unsettling when you read into it and re-watch scenes. Like the whole connection between Danny and the bear toy and the man in the bear costume that Wendy sees... Ergh. Makes you shudder.

...I’m not a horror fan but I’ll go with The Conjuring...it was a good../..creepy story...I think it might only have been a 12yr rated as well......

I agree with Tony Montana regarding The Shining, although it's really hard to narrow them down to just one film. I also love The Exorcist, Friday 13th... and I have Nosferatu, the original 1920s version and it's surprising how creepy it is.

I like a good psychological horror rather than people being tortured.

That's a really tough question actually, Alien would be up there, also Predator.

One that really freaked me out was The Skeleton Key and The Ring scared the **** out of me. One that had a good storyline was The Uninvited

I also love the original black and white version of The Haunting.That Hill House was pretty spooky in it's day.
