JLS star JB Gill was taken to hospital after four people broke into his family home during a night-time raid.

The 33-year-old singer was sprayed in the face with an unknown substance after he confronted the attackers who targeted his valuables, reports The Sun.

Gill was taken to hospital following the incident, which happened around 3am, but the former X Factor contestant was not seriously injured.

He lives with his wife, Chloe, 32 and their two young children on their family farm on the outskirts of London. A source told The Sun the family were “extremely shaken” but escaped injury.

The Metropolitan Police are now investigating.

A representative for Gill said: “JB and his wife had hoped to keep details of the incident private in order to safeguard their young family.

“They are all well and safe having increased home security.”

JLS found fame in 2008 when they were contestants on The X Factor.

The boy band – Gill, Aston Merrygold, Oritse Williams and Marvin Humes – were runners-up on the show but went on to release four albums before splitting in 2013.

Yeah, it could have been anything really (most likely an aerosol of some kind supposed to disorient them) but I think anyone's first thought would be that they'd been sprayed with pepper spray, or even acid, which can have such horrific results.
