Default Annoying clichés in Horror
What tropes do you find annoying and tiresome in Horror movies ?.

Characters splitting up is the worst one for me , it's the most nonsensical stupid thing to do when a killer is chasing you . Surely strength in numbers.

…hearing the creepy noise/voice or etc and walking straight toward it instead of running the other way and out of the house…also splitting up from a group so you’re completely isolated and obviously will be the target…


…and don’t get out of your car at night on an isolated country road…just stay in the car and drive on…if you think that you’ve hit something then find a crowded place and phone the police…

I always roll my eyes when people run towards danger instead of away from it .

Weak 'dumb' women/girls. I mean i kinda get it, the killer gets to most teens in the end, men and women, but it just feels like back in the 80's and 90's it was all about tits and ass (i mean it probably was). Most slasher movies from back then are quite forgettable for a reason i guess. Im not against them though, i'd still take 80's and 90's horror over anything modern.

A Nightmare Elm Street was a superb exception with the wonderful and intelligent Nancy, probably my favourite horror film of all time.
