I delete the odd post and reply to threads asking questions about moderation, and I still chat in the mod area, but mainly..I am just a member now as I cannot be arsed with the ridiculous amount of **** anymore. Just don't have the energy for it right now.

I read the title as the 'forum police' for some reason. What a fail.

And I don't think its that the police aren't bothered, its that they are understaffed and overworked. A friend of mine was getting death threats not long ago, and the police refused to get involved and said until something actually happened, they couldn't act! So thats nice to know, once the persn actually kills you the police will get involved.

I have huge issues with the police that I have gone into on multiple threads. The only time I have ever called them they would nnot help, I had to put myself in danger to save my mother..then they did come, and locked ME up along with the guy.

They are about some things, and don't give a sh*t about other things. Understaffed yes but they also don't prioritise well... Some of the stuff they are still bothered about is petty and a waste of time - and some of the stuff they're not arsed about is pretty significant.

I've seen them take an hour to respond to fights in the town centre, and yet in the well-off village 5 miles down the road, two or three expensive cars were stolen and they had three vans patrolling the streets non stop for literally DAYS.

I agree with you vicky....

My work got broken into 3 weeks ago with 23g of stuff stolen..we had cctv showing neck tatoos etc.....still no, didnt even bother watching or come to view it....


Just got a taxi back from my lift drop off with a nepalese driver......same story with one of his fellow taxi drivers....he got stabbed....but seemingly the police can do nothing.....

Unfortunately they just don't have the resources to investigate a lot of things anymore unless it's a serious crime. If you report shoplifting now the police tell you that they won't look into it until you have sent off a statement that you need to do yourself and cctv footage which you have to post at your own expense and won't arrive until a day or two after the offense by which time it's normally too late

I don't blame the police for that though, I don't think they don't care, it's just the reality of policing atm

Exactly - What policing there is none at all for the ordinary person , everyone is being affected by crime and even if you know their names and addresses -and so do the police ! but they have no evidence apparently ! because the do nothing.
