Is it really that good?? I thought it looked a bit naff, I've never been a fan of space travel films and the idea of watching George Clooney and Sandra Bullock floating around for a couple of hours really didn't appeal to me

It was good if you watched it in 3D at the cinema, the visuals were fantastic but If I'd seen it at home in 2D I think I would have found it a bit boring

Yeah, It was a good 3D experience, not really a great film, the story was pretty weak imo

It was the first film I've seen in 3D since it's come back on scene, so i can't compare it to other films in 3D, but I thought it was visually stunning and felt as if I was there with them, never seen anything like it.

![]() I really need to get around to seeing it but I think I'll have to try watch it on a 3D screen somewhere (no idea where I'd get access to one) |

Gravity is amazing and a must see in 3D while it's still in the cinemas (I guess it is)...but as far as storyline and acting goes..I think it's a bit weak
You just need to search for all the things wrong with the film scientifically and then you see it in a new light I gave it a 9/10 still I loved Avatar and it seems to be a bit of an unpopular opinion liking it, I just lost myself in it to be honest.. |

BAFTAs aren't just for British films, they have separate categories for the British ones. They just tend to go a bit crazy for them.

Yep I'll have to get around to seeing Gravity, hopefully there is still somewhere you can see it in 3D, but if not I guess 2D it is
And I thought Avatar was a pretty popular film, or maybe that's just with the critics. I loved it though even in 2D ![]()

I'm rooting for American Hustle for Best Picture even though I think 12 Years a Slave has it in the bag.

I doubt he has a look in but Tom Hanks really deserves it for Captain Phillips. One of his greatest performances imo. Ejiofor will obviously get it though

And I still don't know how to really feel about it.
The premise of a "medical engineer and an astronaut work together to survive after a catastrophe destroys their shuttle and leaves them adrift in orbit" is a decent premise for me personally, the Film starts off promising (even if George Clooney comes across as smug, and Sandra Bullock's character is a Medical Engineer that doesn't know how to do anything) but their personalities and dynamic could've been more interesting if they hadn't have split them up from the middle of the Film onwards, and the Film just had an issue of sending Sandra Bullock's character for point A to point B and then back again, the Film didn't grow past it's premise which essentially also hit Interstellar. (On top of many other flaws for that Film) This Film did have some okay Thriller/Suspense moments though, especially near the beginning of the Film, but essentially I think that a bigger cast would've helped push this Film forward with more storylines which was needed imo. The Film had potential but didn't quite live up to what it could've done, especially considering the wonderful visual that they clearly spent a lot of money on to make. If I had to give out a score then I'm gonna do it in an IMDB sort of way and score it a 7.1/10 combining entertainment, directing, visual, acting, storylines, and characters together.

Jolly good
|
I just watched this and thought pretty good. Good spectacle and I liked how realistic the physics in space was.
The downsides were some of the dialogue, George Clooney being kind of annoying and that thing where if a characters is on their own they have to monologue their thoughts and explain what is happening. I thought the score got in the way sometimes and would have preferred to hear the silence of space. This Honest Trailer pretty much nails it. |

It was pretty good to watch in the cinema in 3D because it looked great but I'd imagine it would have been pretty dull otherwise
