I have a legitimate contact at Fremantle who has been in communication with me over the past few months. The panel has been very up and down, as I have already said. To my knowledge, Ayda was never going to judge the show. We have not had an official statement yet and my source is still adamant that Ayda is not a standalone judge. They are also adamant regarding the involvement of someone else.

Perhaps this is an elaborate hoax, as was 2007. Maybe Ayda will be replaced very quickly with the fourth person I have been informed of. I don't know what is happening but it does seem very, very strange. The X Factor is produced by Fremantle, distributed by ITV and owned by Syco. There is no way at all that Syco (Simon) alone could sign Ayda for the show - it would've needed approval from ITV and Fremantle. I find it astonishing that they would approve her appointment.

We will see.
