The reason LI is a hit in 2018 is because people idolise glamorous insta-esque models/celebs in this superficial social-media era we live in, and that's exactly what LI offers. By no means does the GP crave seeing your average bob-the-builder or Miss Hoolie on TV for 9 weeks right now.

Yeah I worded that wrong when I said "real" but BB has tried the whole Insta thing when they moved to Channel 5 in 2011 and everyone bar Aaron was under 30 and it didn't work....They kept casting models and ex reality tv stars and not surprisingly still didn't work.

BB is tricky as **** they tried to be some young cool show and alienated its loyal fanbase who have switched off in droves then in January went a bit to high brow (by channel 5 standards anyway) to get the old viewers back and it flopped again.

What they need to do is get interesting housemates who have opposing opinions and the rest takes care of itself...Sounds simple but Channel 5 rarely get it right.

Why 8:30? That means they are going up against Corrie.

Its likely to be 3 or 4 seeing as we don't get a house tour these days and theres roughly 16 housemates making it 4 per every half hour plus the start of the show really needs to grab the viewer hence needing outrageous vt's.

Corrie is pulling in up to 8 million and soaps tend to attract the same type of viewer BB does.

Its a stupid decision imo they cant afford to take risks at this point.

Well the difference this Time is that it the last every cbb on channel5 so people will watch if there fans

Channel 5 haven't even confirmed its the last CBB and tbh I think the fact that its not being promoted as the last ever and instead has the tabloids just reporting the show has been cancelled kind of puts it in peoples minds that the show is dead before its even started...Not exactly the publicity a show needs.

Channel 4 were honest about it being cancelled and celebrated it hence the spike in viewers but 5 don't even know if they are actually scrapping it they are just waiting to see if it gets viewers

We will just have to wait and see...

Whining for the sake of whining... It’s not as if the civilian series has completely disappeared... It’s just airing after Celebrity Big Brother as it did in 2011...

As for overshadowing CBB has been that way for years now... It consistently pulls in higher ratings, superior storylines, and better casting... That’s not to say a renewed focus on the civilian version isn’t warranted...

I really fail to see where you’re going with this... Promting BB as having been cancelled would be disastrous for Channel 5 if they intend on keeping it pending the results of this next series... That said the strategy of keeping fans guessing seems to be working as it’s created a lot of chatter and speculation as to where the series might be going... As the old showbiz adage goes “any press is good press”...

Dude all you do is whine...If its not about Scientology its something else im just making a valid point that I had hoped the civilian series would have been favoured over CBB for a change instead CBB is overshadowing it again.

Like you said CBB has been cast better for years and that's my point it has more effort put into it.

who still watchest tv things at the right time... I always use virgin to pre-record the show then I start watching the show on delay so that I can rewind through the adverts and dont have to watch them...
