So, now that I’ve had a proper look at the pictures.. First off, the negatives:

The decor. I couldn’t agree with Shaun’s post more. Each series used to have its own identity. The spirals/twists in BB7 for example. Nowadays it looks like someone’s gone a bit crazy using Argos: Click & Collect. I wish that they’d have followed suit with regards to the garden (i.e. plain yellows and greys).

This isn’t really a negative, more of a personal preference: I wish that the door from the stairs didn’t open right onto the kitchen. Something like BB7/9/10 would have been nice.

However, after 8 or so years it’s so good to see a change of layout. They’ve done a fine enough job of swapping around rooms but this house actually looks different. I love the garden, the separate lounge is amazing and having the bathroom and bedroom connected again is great. The lack of mirrors doesn’t bother me, I think a more claustrophobic house will do good for the series in terms of natural drama (and it stops housemates looking at themselves every 10 seconds). The bedroom not having that same ****ing vanity area is great news too.

I’d give it an 8.5/10 for layout change alone.

It does look REALLY good and put some effort into it. However though to reply to Shaun's comments, I understand the point about the furnishing aspect of it. From what I can see, they are making the houses more appealing to the masses and following the trend of many reality tv houses (don't worry, the ones in French shows look about the same) from shows that gather a lot of viewers. BB has to adapt to what other are doings too, and not alwauys the other way around like it used to be.

I like it but just looks like a generic Ch5 era house that looks a little OTT

I like it but it does seem quite hard to look like a villa you would get abroad especially the garden which is ok because we dont have any other reality show set in a villa abroad

But yeah i do like it especially because of an outside living room amd closed off stairs! Ahhh

There seems to be a big buzz on this forum right now!

imo bb's desperation to adapt and be like other shows is where the shows gone wrong

the garden is really nice and almost minimal like they used to be but yeah the house could’ve been done the same, it looks too catalogue-y instead of being unique and geometric like they used to be

i have hope that the civilian house will be dialled down a bit because c5 cbb houses are a tad maximalist

garden looks quite nice, love the bar as well there

but the bedrooms what's up with the blue? is it trying to look like a house for the smurfs or something

the light decorations quite nice, reminds me a bit of my Christmas decoration though

They had a layout change in 2010 2011 2012 2014 2016 2018 and now this year. They're always changing the layout

They're hardly layout changes - just moving rooms or closing them off.

This is a proper layout change because the house is almost unrecognisable from the previous.

A little is good, too much is not. They tried and sometimes (well, a lot of the times) it failed. But a house is a house, and where things went wrong is not only related to that (if at all related to the house).

Acrually C5 have changed the layout quite drastically a few times. Between powertrip and timebomb they completely rebuilt the inside - but annoyingly then placed everything roughly in the same place so it looked not much different lol

He means a complete structural change. Channel 5 have only done that once before.

I think it doesn't take much to work out that c5 probably don't get the same budget for the house that show would've got in its c4 days. So to expect a total layout change is just unreasonable imo. Tbh I think they've done pretty well at making the house seem as if its had a drastic layout change. compare the bb11 - 13 changes to 14-18. I mean they basically built a second house from the ground up for the bb17launch twist.
