Hard to know that without being in her shoes.
Her health situation could have life-altering implications, like she may have to end her career over it or give up something she loves... I can see that becoming a bit much.
It could also throw a wrench in any other plans she may have, like starting a family. Ayumi (the lady in my avatar) kept singing and performing despite the potential risk of losing her hearing, so she is nearly deaf now. She refuses to stop.
