1. It is a nasty crime,but it doesn't say what it was ,he could have been a teen in a group there are few scenarios,nothing says he destroyed anyones property,but it's wrong and he has seen that so see no reason to condemn him now.
2.Theft,C'mon that could be anything ,no matter how big or small most of us have done it.
3.Nothing says he sold it,he could have been stashing it,using it,buying it,again it doesn't say what,of course it's wrong but he has admitted it so I don't see a problem at all.it was probably years ago.
I would say the arson was the worst but he's obviously seen the error of his ways,no need to hold it against him now.
