I don't know about "strong", but to keep us living the lifestyle to which we've become accustomed, yes this is sadly true. Although advances in automation also mean that fewer and fewer man hours are needed, whilst populations continue to swell. And we wonder why those populations are starting to "leak out" in dinghies
.
