That was the best episode since Moffat's era, more of that please Chibbers.

TBH, I think he handicapped himself with S11, by not reusing any old aliens, I hope we get more like this in S12

Definitely the best episode from Chibnall so far.

Unfortunately, and I hate to say it, Jodie let it down in parts again. Her line delivery is kind of annoying. Well, after 11 episodes, it's now REALLY annoying.

Also, it's the first time I've really appreciated the new score. More of this please.

Gutted about UNIT though, there was no need. We wanted Kate Stewart and Osgood in the wings to make appearances.

Next time I get pulled over for speeding I can't wait to say "You are an enemy of the Daleks!"

I don't see how it can be Jodie, as other shows have proved how well an actress she can be. They're just not allowing her to explore the character on her own because they're too busy trying to keep up with modern times and make her appear "relatable". It's like watching a pantomime.

I think its the way some lines are written, like, she'll have a solution to a question she just finished asking

Yeah, maybe. Just like when she looks to the floor, holds her hands out and is explaining something with bizarre words the way she speaks really grates on me. Like a children's TV presenter.

I kind of agree, in interviews she's more Doctor-y than she is onscreen. If I was a director I'd be like "Jodie, play yourself love!"

That too. It's very repetitive.

Exactly. She overpronounces every single word as though she's teaching a child how to talk. It's unnatural. And it's clearly just the writing since I'm noticing it a lot in the companions too, mostly Graham. The patronising tone, how you'd speak to a four year old.

It's the best paced episode he's written, and he balanced the character stuff a lot better too. Felt like it flowed much more naturally.

The dialogue is still his weakest point though, as Ashley says.

People on Twitter fuming that the BBC used the axing of UNIT as a dig at Brexit voters

The scene itself was actually funny. The first bit of genuine humour, but sad at the same time.

And can I just say the most bad-ass Dalek the show's had in years.

Who knew Chibbers had it in him?

This was the first episode this season that actually gave me goosebumps in a few places. A marked improvement, that I hope continues into S12

I will say I thought he wrote the Dalek very well, which sounds weird when you're talking about something that's fairly one-note like the Daleks, but they are quite hard to get to sound right. Victory of the Daleks has the most annoying line where a Dalek says "Stalemate, Doctor" which always wound me up as why would the Daleks use an expression that derives from a game that humans play? I mean, I know later it was established that chess is a game that is played over the universe but you will never get me to believe that the line was given that much thought.

When the narrator was talking about how "the enemy" was cut up and buried in different parts of the world, and a skull was among the things Mitch and whatsherface had recovered, I was expecting a bait and switch, that the enemy would be Captain Jack and the skeleton would reform...
