Tbf it's always unfair to kick someone out whilst someone else has a bye. Make it non-Elimination or auto eliminate the injured person. It wouldn't be hard to add a second double Elimination, or add a second person to the Final.

Bake Off did this as well, mind you it resulted in a right **** of a double elimination the following week
