Increasingly year on year we're still using our iPhones to "get things £5 cheaper off Amazon".

My point I guess is that if people like the look of a Civic they're going to buy a Civic. Politics just isn't a consideration for enough people for boycotts to be effective.

Nestle has been boycotted for decades because of their shameful tactics in Africa but they don't give a ****... it hasn't changed anything... and never will so long as the profits they make from those tactics are greater than the loss they incur from the boycott.
If some people are apathetic, well, that's their problem.

Me? I vote with my wallet and try never to buy stuff from wankers. It's not easy as you can imagine.

reece look at the bigger picture,

The CEO isn't being entirely truthful though, is he... as the factory in question builds 95% petrol-engine cars and only 5% diesel, and could quite easily switch to 100% petrol. Demand for electric cars is MANY years away from touching the demand for petrol cars.

So you don't think it's likely that Honda said they would be staying in the UK back when there was promise of a "special deal" between the UK and the US, but are withdrawing now that we're close to not having any sort of deal with anyone at all?

Sadly they have decided
to Close the massive car factory in 2021.

By then more Electric Cars would go to the USA from Japan and Asia

The car industry has been fickle for 50 years so honda shutting up shop in itself is not an indicator. I don't think we will be short of cast iron examples for long
