I didn't hate it, it was a good enough sci-fi movie and I'd have been up for a sequel 2 / 3 years after the original but... I mean... it'll have been 12 years between 1 and 2. I don't think it was memorable enough for the hype to be particularly big.
I'll definitely watch it, but I doubt I'll go to the cinema for it. So I guess it depends on how good the second movie is? If it's stand-out then it might have enough steam for a 5 movie franchise. If it's only OK then I don't see how they can justify greenlighting another 3 movies
