A vile man, Scooter Braun, has bought out Big Machine Records (the label Taylor was signed with until after Reputation) and after bullying her and many other artists (like Ariana Grande) for years, he now owns all of Taylor’s music from her first 6 albums.

I think you’re missing the point. This isn’t about the money she’s losing, he’s its a factor, but it’s nit the point. This is about the fact she doesn’t own anything she’s created since she was 15.

Poor Taylor he can basically release remixes, a greatest hits album, let her songs be used in ads etc without her permission.

I blame the guy who sold the record company. Taylor obviously trusted him and asked him not to sell the label with her masters but ofc the value of the record company without Taylor’s masters would have gone from 300m to a few million if that so he is obviously a greedy bastard.

Yes. Like I said, if you are signed from a young age and pushed into the industry by a machine then there is always a chance these big corporations or money men are going to own your music rights.

I know a lot of guys from the UK scene now, who own all their publishing, because they’ve been largely independent from day 1. Now have they seen the success Taylor has, of course not... but that’s the flip side to it.

This Scooter Guy seems suspect and dick head from what I’ve read though, so I’ll givenher that.

Starting November 2020 she is legally allowed to re-record her albums, so she will be remaking albums 1-5.
