I didn't say lowering taxes will make prices lower accordingly, I said raising taxes will raise prices.

The entire discussion is about the Tories wanting to cut taxes to the rich, and the premise that it's a good idea because the extra wealth will somehow end up in Joe Public's wallet, and not as a 3rd private yacht somewhere in the Caribbean.

Anyone think these savings will be passed on? .. they won't, it's like expecting sectors to regulate themselves, not going to happen!
Wages are in line with the cost of living? ..mine might have been, in 1963!

Trickle down economics never work out. When you cut taxes at the top, they just hoard the money for themselves, they don't put it back into the workforce.

Eh, good for them, at least they're enjoying their money and it's not falling into the wasteful economy.

Wow, how partisan do you have to be that you're cheering for your own side for not taxing the rich as much as they should and so the economy is suffering? That's.... That's honestly so ****ing grim.

If they try to avoid paying 20% then I'm against it. That's what they should be paying.

Stewart Lee wrote presciently in the Guardian in June 2017

“The secret Tory steering committee has always intended Boris Johnson to be leader of the party and Theresa May has only been put in place as a kind of palate cleanser, a nasty-tasting mouthwash that you swill around your gums before being forced to eat actual human ****.”

I believe that, when Cameron got in he laughed to Boris ' oh don't worry its your turn soon'... I think they know who's going to be pm... the election is just a charade. :/

Yep, and he probably meant "next" because it was pretty clear that it was meant to be Boris last time round... but he avoided it like the plague because whoever took over from Cameron after brexit was politically doomed. So they let poor T. May take the fall... and now, here he is.

Honestly the only thing that surprises me is that he's slithered into the position before October? He really must believe that he can cobble together something popular.

Well Mark Field did get a suspension and lose his post in government.
So some comeback for his highly inappropriate actions.

It's not a good sign this PM has not done more.

However the very fortunate thing for Mark Field really is that the climate campaigner chose not to involve the police.

Otherwise he could, and should have, for me anyway, been in deeper trouble and likely prosecuted too.
