1. Derek
Ok, so I went from being completely 50/50 on Derek to absolutely adoring him rather quickly. They fact that he loathes a high majority of his fellow housemates speaks wonders to me, and I’m in love with his quick quips and acidic tongue
2. Science
Easily the most interesting of the bunch. I love how much he detests Maxwell yet not once has he let him get under his skin (in fact, quite the opposite). I can’t see Science burning out anytime soon, because he’s got a lot of depth to his character.
3. Makosi
Makosi began to fly under the radar a bit during the second week, but thankfully she bounced back. She was made for her launch night task and I’m hoping BB give her something else to do soon. Amazing housemate.
4. Roberto
I was sad to see him go (but obviously the correct choice against Derek). I could never quite work him out, however he brought out the best (or worst) in the other housemates and instigated a good number of the arguments so!
5. Kinga (New Entry)
First impressions count and Kinga’s sure made one! She seems really fun and hyperactive and is probably needed after 4 weeks of solid arguments and bitching. I have to reiterate how much I loved her trying to take in two bottles of coke, a full loaf of bread, 4 pints of milk etc into the secret garden, after they’d been told that they only needed enough for one nights stay lmao.
6. Craig
Up until recently, I held Craig in a much higher regard than this. Bitchy but funny with it, quick witted, speaks his mind etc. However, his alliance with Saskia/Maxwell/Anthony is a damn shame because it feels like a wasted opportunity. And in the last ep, Maxwell revealed that he’d sprinkled scabs on Science’s food and Craig found is hilarious which is gross. Having said that, “YOU’RE HAVING A FUCKING LAUGH AREN’T YOU MATE?! YOU’RE A FUCKING ANIMAL! YOU FUCKING PIG!” is probably my favourite argument this series.
7. Kemal
Was a lot more prominent in his first couple of weeks. Fine, but not contributing a whole lot.
8. Orlaith (New Entry)
Seems nice and sweet and probably a bit overshadowed by Kinga?
9. Vanessa
She’s pretty much a non-entity, but whenever she does make an appearance she’s usually being a mess (putting the whole house up for eviction, being made to eat three meals a day in the DR/not being allowed to eat anything from the shopping budget). Idk, probably out of her depth.
10. Eugene (New Entry)
Seems nice enough, will need to have more time to judge.
11. Saskia
She was a good housemate in the first few weeks and came across as the most grounded, but she’s being suffocated by Maxwell and spends all day with him on the sofas or in the pool and yeah idk, she’s gone boring. Saskia vs Derek could have been a great rivalry but it seems to have fizzled out.
12. Anthony
He’s just... there?
13. Maxwell
Repugnant. What on earth the crowds see in him is beyond me. I mean, he’s providing drama and that’s fine but he’s gross and sprinkling your scabs on someones food? Rancid.

Ok so we’ve just had cider-gate and wow Saskia and Maxwell looked sooo ridiculous and it was just effortless on Makosi’s part!

The thing I like most about BB1 is that it has very casual and everday people couped up together but then every once in a while there's these crazy cartoonish moments that happen on a dime that are unexpected and hilarious, much like how a real life group of people would operate . And the best culprit of this is Darren, asking himself questions for dramatic effect (AND WHY???), suddenly exploding with happiness over minor things, endearingly self-aware and arrogant, it's like he was born to be this cartoonish but realistic housemate .

Melanie calling Nick "young and immature" in the diary room despite him being 32 and her being 26

Darren finds an egg one of the house chickens hatched and he announces that he wants to grow the egg into a chick and then goes to the diary room asking if it can happen, does he not know the first thing about the difference between an egg and a chick egg

Eugh them bringing Andrew and Sada in at Caroline's eviction to give her gifts when they both turned on her right before they left the house, pretty undeserved .

And then they each get asked who they think will be out next week and after Caroline & Sada both hope it's Nick, Andrew's answer is that he hopes Nick is out too, despite him always eagerly helping Nick with his schemes . Some friend you are .

Darren tries to sleep at 1pm having only got 6 hours sleep the night before. Nichola makes noise and he enters the kitchen and asks her to be quiet, her then requesting if he can sit on her face, causing him to storm off to bed in a huff before it cuts to a big argument

Darren: So how the fuck can you make a song and dance out of my room?
Nichola: Cause it's 1 o'clock in the afternoon!
Darren: And then when I come out and ask you NICELY, to keep it down, you ask me to sit ON YOUR FACE??? I asked nicely "NICKY? CAN YOU KEEP IT DOOOWN?"
Nichola: But the light wasn't off.
Darren: And it doesn't MATTER, it doesn't MATTER. Doing the can-can outside my fucking ROOM! And then asking me to SIT ON YOUR FACE???
Nichola: I ASKED YOU NOT TO BE MOUTHING OFF IN THE AFTERNOON WHILE I'M TRYING TO SLEEP BUT I DON'T TURN AROUND AND TELL YOU TO BE QUIET.
Darren: Asking to sit on your FACE? COME AND SIT ON YOUR FACE?!

You've TRIGGERED me by using the words 'egg' and 'Maxwell' in the same sentence cause it immediately reminds me of the week before when him and Anthony were competing in smashing a giant egg over their face and then when Maxwell did it his head split open with blood everywhere and he was LAUGHING about his own searing pain .

On a more positive note, I did love when they kind of messed with Maxwell & Saskia's head by saying to Makosi "You must now evict one housemate" before even telling the housemates about Eugene, Kinga and Orlaith, so then it just shows Science losing his shit laughing while Maxwell is visibly speechless and Saskia starts frantically darting her eyes left and right in panic .

That's what I love about Cidergate, if Saskia apologizes to Makosi, then she's proving to the audience that she over-reacted about the cider. But if Saskia doesn't own up to anything the audience hate her stubbornness. Makosi basically did a scenario where she wins no matter what outcome by the end .
