Just started a BB10 rewatch. I'm up to Day 4 Eviction. Poor Angel in the diary room breaking down because she's weird and maybe misunderstood. Feel sorry for Beinazir being evicted in such a cruel way. However at least she went during a live show, compared to some of the backdoor evictions in the channel 5 era. I will do a ranking of all the housemates just before the second eviction. At the moment loving Angel, Freddie (just waiting for his downfall once Bea arrives), Sophia, Marcus and Rodrigo. Not liking Safia, Kris and Karley. Also I forgot how much i LOVE the graphics and titles for this series

I thought these BB1 recap shows would just be about the episodes I've already seen but they actually include the missing ones that didn't air so I'm watching them now (starting with the latest one and I'll go backwards) and they're a riot .

They all had to make a sculpture of themselves but only now I'm seeing the build-up to it where Craig messes with Darren's sculpture and then there's this hilarious Marcus narration whilst Darren storms off to the bedroom in a huff

Big Brother 2

And my BB2 watch has come to an end. I started off about a month ago, and then left it because I wasn’t that interested, came back to it and finished it off in just over a week, which I’m not being cocky or anything, but go me. (Because most of the episodes are only 20 mins long) But tbh BB2 isn’t as bad as it’s made out to be. It’s not the most exciting series and if I’m honest it is probably my least favourite series so far but I still enjoyed it nonetheless. Here are my ranks and thoughts of the housemates of 2001.




1. Narinder: Narinder was hilarious as a housemate from word go for me, whether it be her friendship with Brian or her rants in the Diary Room, there was always something to laugh at when Narinder was around, especially her interview which I think might be my favourite eviction interview of all time? “Paul is the most boring person I’ve ever met”/“I feel fine, I could have nominated about 6 people”/“Bubble thinks he’s great and he’s ****e.”/“Hiya I just need a chat sorry am eating a biscuit” Helen doing Narinder’s hair for her eviction, and then she walks out and Narinder’s just like “I want Amma out, I want Bubble out, I want Helen out” ffff A top 10 housemate.

2. Brian: What I like so much about Brian is his humour and his wit, and the fact that he’s good fun. Which I will now give examples of.

3. Helen: The original Big Brother simpleton Examples of Helen’s dimness being endearing (aka Helenisms) include but are not limited to: Telling us that she likes blinking. Wondering if there is chicken in chickpeas. Not understanding why “magic” is spelled with a g and not a j. Asking why after Paul asks her for her phone number. Being surprised that there was more than one person facing the public vote. Licking a plate so she doesn’t need to wash it. (This is probably more appreciated by a viewer than a housemate tbh) Her main problem with intruders being that they weren’t friendly. Having to clarify whether a dove was a bird or not

4. Penny: I THINK I AM GOING TOMORROW!!!!! I THINK NI- UH SEVEN PEOPLE VOTED ME OUT!!!!!!!

5. Amma: I thought Amma was a pretty good housemate, in spite of a few opinions I’ve seen online which claim that Amma was dull, which I disagree with because a) *brushes hair at 2am, pissing Penny Ellis off in the process*, and b) YOU ARE SSSSMALL… SSSSSMUG… AND SSSHITT. I HAAAAAATE YOU!!!!!!!! FRIDAY HURRY UP AND COME, HE’S A FUCKING SSHIT.

6. Elizabeth: I actually quite like Elizabeth and feel as though she’s quite underrated, to the point where she almost borders on green but I can’t do that because that would mean putting as a better housemate than Shahbaz, Shabnam and Arthur, which she’s not quite to those levels, so orange it is. Times such as the most embarrassing thing she’s ever done is have a pee at the side of the road, and wanting to smack Helen over the head Oh and that audition tape FOR ANYONE THAT SAYS I AM AN EXPERIENCE JUNKIE MAYBE I AM! BUT WHAT’S LIFE FOR IT’S FOR LIVING!!!!!!

7. Josh: I can’t think of anything interesting to say about Josh Rafter and I am doing this write up straight after his interview so at least something is fresh in my head. He owned a really expensive pair of trousers. He was tall. Brian didn’t like him. Oh and apparently his real name was Paul which meant there were 3 Pauls on this series #JusticeForAnne



8. Stuart: Apart from this scream of a gif I created () Stuart didn’t really do anything of interest? However, I’ve seen a few people say that he was a lesser version of Nasty Nick which I never saw and I also thought that Stuart came across as a nice man whenever he decided to speak. (which wasn’t very often)

9. Paul: Paul was just a bit of a bore really. He got with Helen and bought her the Gucci handbag and shoes she wanted which was nice but the fact that he was hailed as some sort of brilliant housemate (which he was not btw, Hardeep did the always nominated thing better) is something I don’t get, especially when he nominated Josh because he thought he might be pretending to be gay. a) Wtf. b) You’re a dick for that. c) How paranoid can one be.

10. Bubble: BUBBLE HOLD ME. But I didn’t like Bubble. He started off as being quite upbeat and then that went tits up and became the most miserable bastard alive, which was not only draining to watch, it got him evicted from the house! I also didn’t like the way he treated Brian sometimes, including complaining that he apparently gets away with more because he’s gay (Paul did this too), and also acting like Brian was apparently heterophobic for saying he wants Josh to stay so there was at least one other gay person in the house, both of these combined REALLY doesn’t reflect well on Bubble as an individual.

11. Dean: Ok so you don’t have to be OTT or even central to the series on BB to be likeable, I understand that. I’ve supported housemates that have been a bit under the radar before. But GOOD GOD this boy takes the absolute piss. Not being rude or anything but Dean was such a waste of a housemate. He never said anything of interest, he’s boring, he’s dry and he could honestly put me to sleep with how dull he is as an individual. All he ever did was complain and occasionally play a guitar. And remember the time that he had to wear pink trousers and a white tshirt with a love heart and complained about “having to dress as a homosexual” and then getting picked up on it by Brian, and justifying it by saying “No but that’s what I think a homosexual looks like!” And he ended up getting 3rd place, meaning this bull**** lasted for the whole series. Good luck to any future watchers.

And my full and honest reason for choosing them is that, we have to do it, there's three people out there to choose, and um, I spoke to Craig a couple days ago and he felt a bit uneasy at the fact that he was nominated three times for real? Aw Melanie's eviction is quite sad . When her name was announced to be evicted, the whole crowd was cheering loudly so she assumed it meant that she was really popular (as it was the first series before people could catch on about stuff like that), but then she leaves and is the only BB1 housemate to be booed because in actuality she was disliked and the crowd were simply cheering because they were happy she was evicted </3.

One of my favorite final weeks ever . An all-around lovely way to conclude a series by having a small selection of finalists just having fun together, acting like their own group, being very differing personalities, a way a final week of the show deserves to be .

Davina: Okay now listen I've got some quick questions I wanna ask you about the people in the house, right? Quick questions, quick answers. Who was the FUNNIEST?
Darren: The funniest was ANNA.

Not long before this he also said he was stuck between who he wanted to win between Craig and Anna but he's clearly lying to himself with how he included Anna in all the positive questions and never mentioned Craig, as well as saying he essentially wants to see all the females again but forgetting about Nichola and Claire's existence

Aww Darren getting reunited with his kids at the end of his interview and getting emotional about it. . He may have been an animated presence, but he's one of the kindest and loveliest housemates to ever go on the show .

Them not bringing Nicholas out till near the end of the final so he can come out, get booed by everyone and so he can give Craig the prize money .

Alright BB1 completed, and with that, edgic time!



This must be one of the quickest watches I've done, but over time I got so immersed in this basic premise the show used to be. BB1 rarely relies on any tricks or twists outside of Claire being a late entrant having already seen the show so it really was a perfect summation of what a social experiment looks like. Even the way the house is designed looks so archaic and normal, it's as if the show did not realize the kind of cultural staple it would become . And even in spite of all that, it has this distinct charm to it where it feels like you're watching a normal and down-to-earth group of people only for sudden random and hilariously memorable moments to occur every now and again, very balanced . It doesn't nearly wow me the same way as classic series like BB5/6 do, but it stands tall as my third favorite series for being a very old milestone of TV that ages surprisingly really well even 19 years later .

Great to hear you enjoyed BB1!! I loved it myself too, its nice looking back at the innocence of the show back then, the housemates acctually didn't think anyone was watching and the nasty nick confrontation is my personal favourite BB moment of all time!

Its a shame that old school BB gets a lot of stick for being boring, for a lot of people feel they've aged badly over the course of time, but tbh it was when the show was at its best, i always look back at the early ones (1-7) with great joy, the show at its peak!

BB18 is the best normal BB out of that list imo. 17 is also really entertaining. 15 is bad but has some rootable housemates. 12 and 16 are awful.

You should watch CBB17 or 22, both are really good in different ways
