i dont get the problem, when people dont understand homework questions they (as in my friends and I did) go to the teachers for help and they walk you through the question
![]() it's not as if Milja doesn't understand the method and working out? Sis said she could follow it and understand it so they know how to do similar questions in the future ![]() also idk if Milja did the rest of the questions on that paper (and I'm assuming so) then but they look just as hard if not harder so it's p apparent that Milja's more than capable like i can only assume milja (back me up milja) just simply struggled on those types of questions bc if you look you'd see that those questions are super similar |

I sat in a week's worth of implicit differentiation lessons, I went through it with my teacher and ultimately I just couldn't understand it no matter how many questions I did on the topic
Then my friend walked me through an example he did for his homework and I just understood it from that perspective I genuinely don't see the problem, it's not as if I've simply told Milja the answers with no working out or help. Milja said he understood my working out (which will be a grave mistake if I got it wrong lmao) so when he sees a similar question he'll be able to go through it having four worked examples as reference (assuming he's right) I also don't doubt that milja's gonna have at least attempted those questions and just simply couldn't understand it and I dunno how homework is assessed in other schools but we self-reflected and marked it ourselves... we were given the markscheme and working out to evaluate against our own working out I'm 95% confident my method was correct so Milja's already got a framework to work off of (if my method WAS right) and if they self-assessed today then it just means that Milja got the working out 12 hours earlier than some other people in the class and has already had time to process the mistakes they made ![]() LET'S not shame people for being unsure of homework and reaching out for help! |

Given Milja understood the working out and can therefore answer similar questions in the future, I don't see the problem ![]() if I simply said "width is 2m for question 13" or whatever then I'd understand your point but the fact of the matter is people copy worked examples off teacher's boards and teacher's also practically do student's homework questions for them anyway to help them |

Maths textbooks come with worked examples for the harder questions - so I don’t see the difference with Ant giving Milja worked examples
![]() And it’s only the same as what the teacher would do if Milja asked them for help ![]() |

Lmao just ignore the people moaning that it’s cheating. Ant you did the right thing by helping and Milija you did the right thing by asking for help.

Seems like teachers are soft these days, when I was in school who ever needed help were just made to do it with a tiny but of guidance not the teacher doing the whole thing

It’s not that they’ve gone soft it’s that schools have changed. They’re not about learning things anymore, they’re about passing exams. And teachers know they won’t be sticking around if they don’t get a certain pass criteria from their class, so they’d much rather give students more help than usual if they’re not performing well, than have a below average pass rate for their class.

The amount of teachers in my school who were more worried about making sure 94% of their class left with grade C and above than making sure students were taking in the information and applying it to everyday life was pretty shocking and it’s why so many of our generation lack common sense or the ability to problem solve.

![]() If Milja could get demotivated and annoyed for spending an hour on those 4 questions and they could understand it better in five minutes by seeing it worked out, why shouldn't he have access to the working out to help his understanding? (Besides who knows if I'm right ![]() Goodness gracious if teachers support their students in other ways! |
