They dont care about the union. That's why Scotland should vote for independence and NI for unification of Ireland

That doesn't make sense to me: wanting to divide one island and unite another.

To me supporting both of those opposing positions are just a sort of trendy idea (at the moment).

One is artificially disunited and the other artificially united. The fact they're both islands is irrelevant. It's nationalities that count.
There's nothing opposing about these two propositions.

Hispaniola or Borneo ?

The point is it's ok to have a divided island if you have more than one nationality inhabiting.
I told you it's not about the island but nationalities on it.

Hispaniola - Haiti is one of the poorest and historically troubled countries in the world.
