I once read an 'on this day' article in the Yorkshire evening post, it was from I think 1904... not exact on that but it was around then. It was about the fitting of filters to factory and mill chimneys, the owners didn't want to pay for it and the government wouldn't so it never happened.
How different would life have been in those days had they done that?
I really wish I'd have kept that now as at the time I thought wow! This is massively significant :/
