Default Is love island problematic?

At least 3 ‘contestants’ this year are completely unintelligible. They slur all their speech and it is very difficult to understand what they say. Clearly chosen for their looks without consideration for whether they can actually speak clearly or be understood.
Producers make them swap a hope they will become relevant/famous by making them do demeaning ‘tasks’. How does strapping a wooden pole to your groin to catch a bagel give you a passport to possible celebrity status?
Quite worrying that this will pass for normal soon because we have all become inured to it through continued exposure...

Spot on about the ones slurring their speech ... Whenever Sophie and Connor were in conversation I found myself having to reach for the subtitles button !!

Last time I had to do that was watching The Wire boxsets for the guys on the corners in the high rise ...
