Interesting some of the subtle changes they've gone for, e.g.

Spoiler:

Sephiroth being teased early with the black feather.

Also a bigger one, to I guess avoid the risk of Avalanche getting less sympathy from a post-911 audience; in the original the Avalanche-planted bomb does indeed blow the reactor to hell. In the remake, the bomb is only a small explosion that disables the reactor without much collateral damage, but Prez Shinra has his forces immediately blow the whole thing to bits presumably to frame Avalanche as uncaring terrorists...

I'd always wonder how they'd do that scene in modern times, I don't really mind the change

Spoiler:

I don't think there was any real choice but to tone down Avalanche's activities... in original FF7 they are edging closer to being domestic terrorists than eco-warriors . The change makes sense. Blowing the whole reactor to bits was a bit much. I assume events at the sector 5 reactor will be similarly altered. The "framing" isn't a huge change anyway, since obviously they were always eventually framed for the destruction of Sector 7.

Indeed, we live in different times than 1997, it makes you more sympathetic to Avalanche too

Thankfully I buy pretty much everything digital download these days anyway so no stock concerns there.

I love the having physical copies because it seems cheaper than digital and as a gamer i like them. I could never sell a game so i just used it as some kind of collection

It is pretty much always loads cheaper compared to PlayStation Store but I've become impatient and lazy in my old age... I just want to press a button and wait for the download . Comes from years of using Steam, I think.

I've cancelled my physical copy pre-order. I'm just gonna order RE3 and FFVII through the PSN

Gurl, don't.

Still, I'm glad I know i'll be playing it on release. Getting it early would have been nice but getting it on release means I have more than enough time to beat Re3.

To be frr my PS4 sounds like a helicopter struggling to take off when it loads off of a physical disk, so probably better off waiting

Yeah, with all the uncertainty from Shopto, I'm glad I went for Digital, it gives me enough time to give RE3 a run for it's money.

I just dunno if I can quite justify £50 for Resi 3 right now . Not when I just shelled out £75 for the digital deluxe pre-order of FF7. We'll see I guess. I mean it's not like I have a whole lot else to spend money on right now. But Resi 2 dropped to £34.99 pretty quickly on PC last year, I might just leave it until after FF7 as there may well have been a drop by the time I get though that. I also probably won't 100% finish Resi3 in a week and I'll definitely drop it like a cold bag of sick on the 10th

Given how much I adored RE2 last year, RE3 was pretty much an essential purchase for me. I did also have Persona 5 Royal pre-ordered but I decided to cancel that one since it would have fallen by the wayside.

Tbh as much as I did enjoy Persona in the end, I'd only buy Royal if it was released on Switch. Extra content and characters isn't enough for a full replay that would take up "dedicated gaming time" (which is limited these days) but I'd play through it if I could hop on and off in little bits of downtime. I've ploughed through Fire Emblem that way, mostly whilst cooking or sat on the toilet
