I think the answer to why they waited as long as possible to enter lockdown is pretty clear at this point;

People are getting bored with it and the streets are getting busier by the day.

I said this to marsh earlier, it’s worrying how quickly people’s attitudes have changed because of the nice weather. It honestly feels like people are getting to the “oh cba with this anymore it’s not getting any better why bother” point. Which is extremely worrying when you look at the daily UK graphs

It clear enough why they waited the public’s appetite for lockdown is short...and some never followed the advice at all ...very frustrating, and the media keep pushing about a exit strategy when we are barely through the peak of an artificial suppression, they couldn’t wait to go into lockdown, now they can’t wait to get out ...

It’s just frustrating the people’s selfish actions are going to cause months of this

I'm not sure why it's the public and the media who are being blamed for this pressure, like business and economics don't exist.

Because the journos bring it up at EVERY briefing and because they keep harping on about easing, the lockdown is breaking so after nearly 5 weeks it could all be for nothing, the journos know full well we are locked down until 7th May, plenty time for the government to outline plans in the last week especially if they extend the lockdown, outlining plans now will make it look like we will be coming out of it on 7th May when we may not
