There is no place for centrism in this discussion. To take a centrist view is to be okay with how things are since you are falsely equating to things to make a case for the status quo. It's a rather nothing stance to take.
When peaceful protests are ignored or demonised, it's time to rage. No point in playing by the white people rules when the system is ****ed. The LGBT movement as we know it today began with violent protests against what was the norm, I don't think the issues that plague America will ever be fixed unless they are burned out.
People who would seek to undermine the message here are pretty much inherently racist since they are looking for reasons not to focus on the cause of the anger and what fuels it but the property damage and vandalism because material things are apparently more important than black people being murdered by the system.
