Walked to Trafalgar and passed through the peaceful protests earlier as it’s only about an hour walk or so from me. You can’t really go to a park or anywhere at the moment in London without social distancing being a thing of the past, so might aswell go somewhere much more important than topping up a suntan.

You only have see the videos taken to show hundreds of officers abusing their powers and beating and even killing people for no reason what so ever, an officer sprays mace into an 8 year olds face yesterday and they shot a 13 year old in the head with a rubber bullet causing him to bleed heavily.

Definition of a sheltered & entitled mindset to classify a police force of millions in this way based on the actions of what you're seeing from barely hundreds (in a time of total chaos - which doesn't justify a lot of these, most police attacks in these clips were out of line, but something to keep in mind still). These people keep you safe and keep order on the daily. It's a tough job point blank and some do their job horribly, racistly for sure but this kind of post blaming the majority of them over a couple really unfortunate events shows no type of respect for what so many of them actually do and how many also die in the line of duty. Looking at it in a microscope pretty much and change is needed but not looking at it in the way that many are. It's a "Cops are all evil" movement in many eyes.

Being a police officer is a job with more scrutiny than thanks, who also don't get paid enough for what so many of them do. Having some corrupt, asshole cops working with them doesn't change that. The lowest common denominators are the ones to blame, not an entirety/majority.

Not to take away from cases like George Floyd where people are horrifically, unjustly murdered on the scene, it is an AWFUL thing to see. But it's literally like blaming the protesters that want change based on the actions of the hundreds that are acting in poor judgment

I think the system needs changes on what these cops are allowed to do (like a knee to neck seems totally unnecessary) and to have better checks on the mindsets of these cops. Look deep within and have some immediate firings of cops who have questionable pasts on the job or taking a poor stand/stance right now in this time.

Just not true but I agree 100% that more cops should be coming out and showing support right now. That is one of the best things we could see during this time (if genuine which a lot of them that are doing it seem to be)
