Being forced to act out like an amateur dramatic society, scenes from The Crucible is one of my worst school memories.

Oh God, I remember having to watch it performed for Drama once and it was so boring although you have to admire the petty legend that is Abigail Queen of murder through manipulation and kickstarting the Salem Witch Trials

Roots shows the horrors of slavery from a black perspective, it doesn't contain blackface or harmful stereotypes of black people that diminish their suffering.

Anyone that thinks that Roots is comparable to Little Britain or Gone With The Wind are missing the point.

My daughter was made to watch it at school, it impacted on her very badly. She had nightmares, however this is normal... If we were all confronted visually with the realities of slavery, subjugation and oppression we would all have nightmares.

You shouldn't sugar coat history, accountibility is important if we acknowledge and accept the ills of the past then that's right and fair for me.

Ignoring, denying, glamourising or failing to address objectively questionable periods in our history is counterproductive.

It's time to stop protesting and have proper adult conversations as to how we address concerns and move forward.

I love Of Mice and Men. I remember when I accidentally spoiled
Spoiler:

Lennie's death
for my entire class when asking a question to my teacher.

They all hated me for like a month.
