"To keep material things" seems like a bit of an over-simplification. If the economy collapses, millions of people will die.

https://www.dutchnews.nl/news/2020/0...id-19-vaccine/

countries like Netherlands, France, Italy, Germany have signed a deal to buy up to 400 million doses of a potential anti-coronavirus vaccine from drugs firm AstraZeneca

what our health minister Hugo De Jonge confirmed on saturday

‘Today’s move is extremely important… until we have a vaccine, the virus can always flare up again,’ he said. ‘We are therefore betting on more than one horse, because you don’t know in advance which one will win.’

vaccine is being developed at Oxford University

meanwhile covid-19 new death numbers of yesterday here in Netherlands: 4 new deaths so it remains into low numbers for quite some days in a row now

SkyNewsHD Ridge has started with a Labour MP (Nick Thomas-Symonds)
Rishi Sunak is on her show
and also on BBC1HD Marr. Starting at 9AM

That Labour MP was asked
why their MP's went on one knee
if you go on the BLM website
it has a link to Defund the Police,

That Labour MP does not want to Defund the Police

A young woman was raped; a man died from a 'drug overdose'; three people were stabbed; and police were attacked as up to 6,000 people attended illegal raves in Greater Manchester on Saturday night.
Police and politicians have condemnded the events, which were 'clearly a breach of coronavirus legislation and guidelines and have had tragic consequences'.
Police say around 4,000 people gathered in Droylsden before spilling into Daisy Nook Country Park in Oldham.
Around 2,000 people attended an event in Carrington, Trafford.
In a lengthy statement, Greater Manchester Police said:
Illegal raves took place in Carrington and Droylsden - they both breached coronavirus legislation
Around 4,000 people attended the Droyslden rave
Around 2,000 people attended the Carrington rave
A 20-year-old man who attended the Droylsden rave died following a ‘suspected drug overdose’
There were three separate stabbings - one left a man, 18, with ‘life-threatening injuries’; while two men 25 and 26 were hurt
An 18-year-old woman who attended the Carrington event was raped

Was just coming on to post this.

A friend of mine lives in Carrington near where one of the raves happened and she said there were so many people streaming down the road it was unbelievable....no masks in sight. Our R rate was already high so I reckon Manchester may be the first local lockdown after this

A girl was also raped too....

Yeah we’re in Gtr Manchester as well ..

What with the rioting/protesters and the raves I can’t see how the R rate will not rise even higher over the coming weeks

Teachers are struggling with the constant government changes in advice and regulations
:::::

Ashley Parry is headteacher of two small primary schools in High Peak, Derbyshire: Thornsett, which has 85 pupils, and New Town, with 73. “Probably the most difficult thing throughout this has been the constant guidance changes,” he said. “I sent a newsletter out to parents at the end of last month and at that point there had been 150 guidance changes. I think it’s 180-something now. It’s just constant.”

He's celebrating the fact the deaths are significantly dropping, which is a very good thing, don't be obtuse.
