If Meghan did everything 'right' in the eyes of people who have forgotten that it's 2020 and not 1820, the media would accuse her of being a pretender, or trying to upstage Kate etc. If Kate and Will stepped away from their roles as Harry and Meg had, Kate would be cheered for putting her family first, if Kate did all the stuff that Meghan did, she would be championed as someone who was modernising the role she had been given.

Meghan's treatment is proof that people of colour have to work twice as hard for just a fraction of what white people can get with ease. I have no doubt that the vitriol aimed at Meghan is based almost purely in race.

Kate only has to breathe to be lauded as perfect.

Anything she does that is against usual protocol is glossed up as "modernising" the Royal family and romanticised to the hilt. Anything Meghan does is "disobedient" and "upsetting" everyone else.
