There's a difference between having an interest in a celebrity and believing everything you read and believing you know them and what they're about when you don't.

I'd compare it to the BB debates. It's fine discussing housemates and what they do on the show as we watch their actions within the walls of that house. But when all the judging them on how they are with their kids and everything came into it, that is different as we don't know them as people within the real world outside of what the press portrays.
