Spain were complaining when we put them on our list a couple of weeks ago, and look where they are now

You don’t think the reporting has been nothing short of hysterical? Referring to holiday makers taking the decision to come early from a break in France as suffering? ridiculous!

Can you explain you reasoning, as I feel the UK press have thwarted every effort made to protect the health of the nation, they spent every afternoon during the daily press briefings pushing about air bridges and summer holidays as if that was the only important thing happening

Couple of really interesting graphs here, shows how UK is in a relatively good place compared to some countries atm. Also see how the baelerics have higher infection rates than anywhere in the UK after there was a lot of criticism that they weren't exempt from quarantine

I can’t go to Ireland to see my family either ...I don’t have any family in the UK apart from ourselves and an aunt by marriage, all mine and my husbands are in the Republic and that’s the same for a lot of people as they had to emigrate for work but Ireland has decided UK has to quarantine so what can we do ...sit it out

Please stop swearing at me, there really is no need, the media have a lot of influence ...they should be supporting sound decisions rather than whining on about people suffering, people took their own risk to go on holiday, it was clear countries could be put back on quarantine at any time, they need to quit moaning

I agree about the press being terrible during the whole crisis .. initially they helped scare us all to death then they’ve just endlessly ridiculed the government and each decision and made us all angry and despondent .

Tragic and sad to hear you've lost 2 of your co workers lime.

I've really stopped posting on this thread because after losing no less than 4 people in my life.

All we hear now is praise for the government's handling now.
The media is the enemy and all wrong.
Also the deaths are lower so things improved.
When it's still hundreds dying weekly.

We have figures we can't trust and a government that's deceived near all through.
And hundreds of thousands, possibly into the million or more now, of people left grieving for lost loved ones, of family, friends, neighbours and in your case, work colleagues too.

The losses of life almost near dismissed and played down.

People may think very differently if they actually lost any loved ones really close to them through this detestable virus.
However that is absolutely something I desperately hope no one else ever does have to go through.
As I have and still am while seeing my family and friends go through it as well.

I think there would be an other train of thought if you loose loved ones...now it seems no bother..Jimmy was 45 ..sure it was the media that took him
