I have multi-layer cotton ones for "everyday use" but we also have packs of surgical masks in the car for emergencies.

...I wonder with the ‘second wave’ if there will be enough medical masks for medical workers and some public , this time ...it’s interesting that ‘rate of infection’ is apparently at its highest yet ‘deaths recorded’ seem to remain at their lowest...does that start to suggest ‘immunities’ happening quite quickly...

...I have several because I’m a bit OCD about washing after one wear with the reusable ones...

We're better at treating it is one reason but the other major one is that the huge spiking death rates of April it seems were mostly due to the virus being allowed to spread unchecked in elderly communities, which is really very sad. I'm pretty sure it's also why the UK's death rate seems so high compared to other European nations. There were some serious, serious blunders there.

I have 4 or 5 and any I've used that day go in the wash in the evening... Though I have to admit if I'm going into a couple of different places in one day, I use the same mask . That said one of those times is often the co-op after dropping at school and it's very rare that I encounter anyone at all, and I use self-checkout, so I'm nowhere near anyone to catch anything from/give anything to

I think there are a lot of interlinking factors. Because the majority of people are social distancing, the people that do get infected are getting less of a dose of it and this gives their bodies time to recognise there is an invader and fight against it before it does so much damage. More young people are being infected at present, who have greater resilience to it and then we have better treatments for those that do get hospitalised. Less people are ending up on ventilators because of the better treatment methods, which means NHS staff are less weighed down with dedicated care which means their time is more efficiently used.

The month heading into November is going to be critical for everything. If we can keep a handle on it all, we should be able to get past Christmas without catastrophe

https://www.dutchnews.nl/news/2020/0...-by-next-week/

and additionally mayors have called for advice to wear face masks in every indoor public space, and shop owners can refuse people from entering who do not wear a mask

this goes for Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Brabant-Zuidoost (Eindhoven, Helmond)

and some of our reporters had a interview with Dr Fauci what he thinks about our developments (he says we are going in the wrong direction and that we need to act fast with the right measures), him and our Jaap van Dissel know each other and he was surprised that Jaap isn't thinking same as him regarding this pandemic

no more audiences at sports matches for (at least) 3 weeks, can be extended for a longer period of time in case necessary

all of these measures will go in as of 18:00 CET today, pubs/bars will have to close 22:00 CET
maximum of 3 people at your home

..yeah it is difficult to alway wash in that I always keep one in the car as well...I haven’t actually had a reason to use it yet because I always have one around my wrist as well..(...I spent a few weeks as a Girl Scout so be prepared etc...)...but if I did use it, would I remember to wash it and if I did remember, would I remember to put it back in the car straight away.../...overthinking...

I've worn them since start of March.
So now it's just automatic.
I rarely go out anywhere at present as I can do advice work from home.

So it's only for a walk or if necessary to a store or shop.
I always have a facecovering on even outside as well as inside a building.

It's reached the point where I even forget to take it off once back in the house.

My garden is away from all paths and roads so out in the garden is the only place I don't wear them now.

Which if it's a facecovering, I wash after every use.
I have disposable ones too which I carry around with me too.

I will take no chances of risk.
Choosing the times too, to head to a store, I've found rarely more than a few numbers in when I have.
Using a facecovering or mask has just become routine to me now.
It was a bit irritating at first but now just a natural thing to do for me.

https://www.thelocal.de/20200928/900...n-in-bielefeld

900 people in quarantine (not all have the virus but you can never be careful enough whom they all had been in contact with) in Bielefeld following family celebration

calls for tougher rules

https://www.thelocal.de/20200928/cor...s-warns-merkel

Merkel warns coronavirus cases in germany could leap up to 19,200 by christmas

its good to be realistic i guess numbers wise, so you know you gotta stay focused and keep measures very strict

something what they do really well compared to other countries

everywhere above 50 cases goes into quarantine

Dancing should ALWAYS have been illegal in pubs. As we all know I'm not a pub-goer any more, but I was when I was younger and really there was nothing worse than shrivelled old pub-goblins doing a creaky shuffle around the karaoke dancefloor.

A UK government minister has been unable to clarify parts of the new coronavirus restrictions coming into effect in north-east England.

People who break a new law against mixing socially in seven parts of the North East face a maximum £6,400 fine.

The tougher measures - which are coming into force on Wednesday amid a spike in Covid-19 cases - will affect about two million people.

Skills Minister Gillian Keegan was asked on BBC Radio 4's Today programme whether the new restrictions apply to outside areas, such as pub and restaurant gardens.

"I'm sorry I can't clarify that. I don't know the answer to that question but I'm sure they can find out," she said.

Pressed on how people can be expected to keep up to date with the latest restrictions if a minister cannot, she said: "I'm sorry I can't answer that question. I'm sure there are many people who could. I don't represent the North East."

Labour's shadow health minister Alex Norris said Keegan's admission "will do little to inspire public confidence", adding government "incompetence" was hampering the UK's coronavirus response.
