I would bet these are the same tests the government bought in spring that were deemed not reliable enough for the general public supposedly... more like they wanted to flog them. Boots have been sat on these until the 2nd wave when people are starting to panic again.

It's testing for the wealthy only Kizzy. A family of 4 would be £500 out of pocket if they wanted a day out, which is just insane

...£120 per test..?..it’s being said to be a ‘peace of mind’ test...when no symptoms are displayed, there is no reason to feel testing is required at that moment etc...there does feel some irony, I think... when essential and none essential are such the controversy atm...we can have a non essential..(..at that moment..)... test because it’ll secure a purchase of £120...

It's a scam...I could underst and if they were being sent to labs and such, but what can you do in 12 min? It's going to be a shop assistant with 10 min training to dip a stery strip you spat on into a vial and shake it for a minute.

£120!

I assume this is the same one as they use in Italy? Its pure greed lets face it, however thinking about it a friend recently had to return to India as her Dad is ill and paid 200.00 for a mandatory covid test before she could get on the flight
, so a bit cheaper for anyone who needs to get abroad in a hurry

I think it's the obvious greed and exploitation at the time of a global pandemic that sticks in the throat. There are plenty companies making obscene profits, and this is just another example

I cant see a big uptake for it, wouldn’t you just get a free test like many with no symptoms are doing now

Default Coronavirus Outbreak

Boots could so easily have been onto a winner .. they could have been the heroes ..instead of the villains !

All they had to do is to show what the cost of each test was then offer it to customers at COST price ... use it as an attraction / a loss leader like the other places use ciggies.

Say the cost is £25 thousands would pay that for peace of mind if they’d been in contact with a confirmed case and then as the numbers multiply the price would drop accordingly
