Why does anyone buy anything they don't need as an essential?

Don't get me wrong, I'm mostly a PC gamer so I'm not shy about frivolous spends, I spent just under £800 on two monitors in July (a 32" 4k and a 28" 1440p 165hz) . I also will definitely be getting a PS5 long before any price drops etc... It's more having to put in extra effort to secure one I don't really understand, but then, I'm quite lazy. If I can't just go on a website and order current stock, then I can't really be arsed .

That said, I'd have got one for Cyberpunk if I only had consoles, I suspect the PS4 version is going to be stripped back and will STILL have framerate issues.
