Some in the Lib Dems were still trying to work out a possible deal with Brown and Labour too. There was although much tighter, an anti Con vote in parliament if the Lib Dems hadn't backed them. This isn't about negotiating a deal to govern as to the USA. It's the voters choice of one in and the other OUT. Neither Cameron or Brown had an overall majority. Also in Feb 74, ironically that election was on the parliament channel last weekend. Heath, rightly resisted going for a period too, until it was clear he couldn't get support to remain PM. This USA presidential election is only only a straight choice of 2 candidates. Last edited by joeysteele; 05-11-2020 at 08:41 AM. |
