People make mistakes, and I imagine a large proportion of it is a culture thing.
A manager from India has seconded over to our workforce and she shouts at the team when things aren’t done - yes it’s not ideal, but she is not bullying us, it’s just how the company works in India and she has been taught that way - it’s the norm to get results, and she said corporate India works that way. She has no ill intentions and culturally that is what her workforce is like. She was shocked when we mentioned that isn’t how we work in the U.K.
She has absolutely no ill intent and is just trying to get the team to work hard and reach our goals, she was just bought up this way. Some people could say bullying but the majority of us know she has no ill will it malice and she just needs to adjust.
Priti comes from an Indian family and I reckon she is similar and has been bought up with a mix of Indian and U.K. culture. I doubt she means any harm which is why I don’t believe she is bullying. The U.K. as a whole are very sensitive. A large part of these bullying claims I would bet are due to just simple cultural differences and I reckon some people under Priti are not able to deal with other cultures and are quick to shout bully when really they need to learn people from different ethnicities will have been bought up with different cultures.
