I think it's really good news myself and I'd recommend to anyone offered it to have it.
Which has to be their choice as those I'm in contact with. There's strong apprehension as to the speed this has happened.. I think some really informative involvement is required to be carried out patiently with those first in line to be offered this vaccine. It's a tiny number and no way scientific but of 15 of those just in my own family, who would likely be among the second likely to get this. Only 11 would take it up. 4 at present, are strongly opposed to even considering it yet without more information and understandable data. Well I doubt we'll ever get the latter but I do think government and the science and health bodies, need to really put time in to removing the fears of this vaccine. Myself however, I congratulate all, including those in government who have pushed for a vaccine, in getting to this point so quickly. It is commendable. It doesn't erase the scandalous wrongs of government previously which still need to be fully publicised and have a firm open inquiry into. This however is and should be seen as very welcome and positive news. |

it's very positive news i think, and we desperately need some of that.
People who are at risk will of course be more inclined to get the vaccine than those not, and that's fine. Everyone can make their own choice dependent on their individual circumstances |

JVT on 5 Live
His latest football analogy we got battered by the away team in the first half and they got a goal, its the 70 minute and we have scored a goal, so its 1-1, we cant throw it away now, we must hold our nerve until the 90 see if we can score another and nick it, but as it stands its a draw PS There are 5 more vaccines coming down the track, one of which might be a one shot only

sorry to be more cautious anyway, and not as optimistic as others
i wish those who get the vaccine first very best of luck, since we don't know what the side effects of this vaccine is i am wondering, is it really smart to give a vaccine (where side effects are unknown of) to elderly and vulnerable first?

It’s kinda disconcerting to learn that all the other countries feel that we have gone far too soon on this to get an advantage .. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

I’m talking about the only ‘cleared’ vaccine . They said there were just 800,000 yesterday ... with each person needing two doses ( 21 days apart) . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

When people have cancer they chow down on any medication offered, often experimental, we eat food and drink that have lots of nasties in it, we breath polluted air, people smoke, people take drugs, as someone said this morning nothing in life is risk free, but in vaccines if you are going to have an adverse reaction in the majority of cases they get a reaction fairly soon after the drug is administered, and they have not had any in the people trialled, apart from the usual sore arm, etc, that is not to say it wont happen in some, it might. If you dont want it dont take it, worry about yourself and let others make their own choices My 85 year old aunt cant wait!

My Dad has been on and off the shielding list since March - he is on his own, has had heart problems in the past and he is 73. He will in that queue the minute they say he can so his life can continue. As it stands, he has had no life for 9 months that resembles anywhere near normal. We can worry about this or start to move forward. Its a worry naturally but something that you have to weigh up as to the impact on your life.

I think it's very important that the most vulnerable are protected.
Deaths are going up at an alarming rate, so this vaccine offers real hope.

As we are the only country currently to have a vaccine what would the world's mega rich pay to be protected? Can we be sure the doses the UK has are for us? If out of the several million we bought they are suggesting the amount available is 800,000 where have the rest gone?

Oh I agree, there's been so much misinformation during this pandemic, I'm not surprised people have doubts and concerns. Personally I'd support people getting it however I do understand the fears of those who will of course want this vaccine, however have insecurity and fear relating to it and how faster it's being put out to the public on the UK. It's not always about choice to have it or not. I'd say near all eligible for it would want it. However their fears should not be dismissed as to its safety. Also to the speed this appears to be possibly happening. So I do see your point too. |
