I think it will be a long time before I'm fully comfortable in big crowds etc again
Again I don't think we have to see those as negatives; it would be very good for public health in general, even if vaccines do eradicate Covid, for us to continue with a culture of increased hand hygiene and while mandatory mask wearing must end, it would also be quite nice if we adopted the East Asian tradition of people choosing to wear a mask as a courtesy if they have a cough/cold.

if it doesnt end up being cured by vaccine it will be by therapeutic. Huge amounts of money have been thrown at resolving this and the medical benefit across the board will be phenomenal

Yeah, I don't think they are negatives either. I think people will be more aware of virus transmission so that can only be a good thing really

The fatality numbers and long-term effects will be lessened by therapeutic advances, if it isn't halted by a vaccine it won't be cured, any more than the flu or measles or TB etc have been cured.

It'll circulate, most people will be fine with treatment, some vulnerable people will die of it at low levels. But we accept that with countless other viruses including all those mentioned above so we will come to accept it with this one.

I’m not sure the tens of thousands who travelled out of London last night to infect the rest of the country would ever think of others in that watc.

Sadiq Khan was being interviewed on LBC this morning and he was complaining that the government have been far too slow in putting London into tier 4 ... then the interviewer said ‘ weren’t you complaining less than two weeks ago that the government hadn’t moved London down to tier 2 ... ?!?! “

He just mumbled something incoherent..

There's a lot wrong with japanese culture (rape culture and how women are treated in general, people dying from overwork, suicide is basically a pandemic etc), but when it comes to their health, I can't fault their approach. We could learn a lot from Japan when it comes to their commitment to masks for the sake of others.

Yes he was begging on Monday before the Tier review for London to stay in Tier 2 and urging Londoners to comply with the regs
