He doesn't need to. Speech is so protected in The US that the speaker will always get the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately for those that repeat this nonsense, it isn't actually relevant to impeachment. If you want to know more, and let's face it, you don't, here is a good vid from an American Lawyer.

Did you read that article LT? Professor Epps says he almost certainly did incite violence but its difficult to prove.

I'd guess that there will be few ambitious lawyers who are gonna get rich trying to prove it so I'm not sure why you're so confident. Trump is quite a scalp for any ambitious lawyer.

Its a fools errand and going forward if the DEms want unity (of course they dont they want revenge for their own failings) its going to hurt the start of the Biden presidency (which isnt looking pretty at the moment)

Its got nothing to do with the Dems, they hold three of the four branhes so they're quite happy. Its about holding people accountable. Its not a fool errand but more a way for ambitious lawyers to make a name for themselves. Its a career case for pretty much anyone. I'd imagine there wll be no shortage of people who are motivated to see Trump in court.

People seem to think that come next Thursday Trump will be forgotten and we'll all move on. He'll be living it up in Mara Lago. No, I dont see it and I've said it before on the forum, it may get so bad that Trump is forced to leave the country.
