By the way, can they just speed the process and impeach him just for the sake of it 9 days before the handover? And to make sure he won't be able to be a candidate again in the future.

it was pretty obvious that there were a number of police last week that were sympathetic to "the cause". Biden is getting a new secret service team for exactly the same reason. I think there will also be a significant degree of paranoia in the lead up to inauguration which i completely understand given recent events. It's going to take a while for everything to settle down again

Just to add, more than a dozen capitol police are under investigation for their actions last week and 2 have already been suspended

...just going back to the police officer who died following the riots and I think it was said that he may have died later as a result of injuries during the riot...?...he apparently took his own life...
