Had an asymptomatic test done an hour ago. Was so nervous all morning as Im a gagger. But it wasnt as bad as I thought it is slightly strange and is uncomfortable but not too much! I have tested negative but will have to have one on tuesday too

Is this a serious question?

Would people on the bones of their arse, possibly lost job through this, possibly long term skint for various reasons..purposely try to get a virus that has a very low complication rate among the general population (unless you are very elderly, or ill) and infact is most likely to not even make you slightly ill, in order to get enough money to pay the rent/feed their kids that month? Of course they would. I wouldn't call them scammers either, I would call them desperate.

Did they not give you the option of swabbing both nostrils instead of your throat or isn’t that possible with the antibody test

I work at uni so we have a centre there that we have to book a test and register beforehand. Was suprised at how quickly the result came

Its weird because my sister has to get them done weekly now as she works at a nursery and hers is just the nostrils one

This one was throat, both tonsils for ten seconds then up a nostril for ten seconds.

I wish I just had the nostril one!

I was told that test was long gone. That one was bloody horrid. And I got told off for gagging even though they were like..literally poking my gag reflex area I swear the nose part it felt like trying to poke my brain too.

Was told it was just a cheek swab now. Which made me think the whinging about schoolkids getting it twice a week was ott. If its still that one, I have more sympathy.

Yeah I gagged but not as bad as I thought but I think i did it wrong as you have to do it yourself. My nose still hurts a bit too

It depends on the type of test you have done as to whether or not you just have a nasal swab or whether you a throat swab too. Most sites have both nasal and throat bc the nasal ones aren’t readily available yet.

Also Vicky if it itches your cheek/tongue before the tonsil then it’s invalid so you can’t actually do a cheek swab

Well yes, I remember that bit of it actually. As was thinking I could NOT do it myself at all if I had to touch tonsils without touching anything else in my mouth, while gagging like hell...
