because it’s a character damaging statement that could potentially be viewed as libellous...and open to that being laid...and it’s a good thing that there is protection against that for all of us so that someone would have to prove their words and statements..it’s not giving an opinion or any type of debate or saying ‘in my opinion’ or ‘I think that’ or ‘read that’ or whatever... it’s stating that someone is a liar and actually lied and of course that would always have to be proven because it’s being written as fact in public...

hopefully this utterly fake 90-minute "promotion" with their "best pal" Oprah will reduce the media focus on them and we/they can finally focus on their philanthropic causes and climate change?

If it was rational debate and not largely quoting things like Daily Mail articles etc.
It could have some merit backed up by hard substantiated facts not just a formed opinion.

I have many formed opinions, I'd accept could be wrong, I have even had my mind and position changed from others, even on here in rational debate etc:

However, constant character assassination against any individual who hasn't done anything to warrant same.

It didn't matter who they gave the picture to in all honesty though does it? You know as well as I do, they could have only given it to Royals Weekly (I know there isn't such a thing but you catch my drift?). The tabloids would have got hold of it and crucified them for not giving it to the British press. By providing it themselves, they have fulfilled their perceived obligation in providing the British public with the news of the pregnancy without a pap shot of Meghan's belly coupled woth speculation.

They said they wanted privacy to live their lives the way they want, releasing what they want. They never asked for media blackout. The press will run with what they want and as we discussed at the beginning of this thread, they don't really care about legal action so there is no way they will ever get all the privacy they crave but they have the right to launch legal action if they believe a line has been crossed

The tabloids chose to run it....they weren't obliged to but they do because they know Meghan and Harry = sales

I assume you are referring to a post of mine again. When someone asks why you think someone has told lies, you answer them with what you have heard and read, you don't always have to say 'I read that'..... I think they can work out for themselves that you weren't actually there personally to hear it with your own ears or see something with your own eyes.
You don't have to say 'In my opinion' either, it's obvious, or should be by now on a debate forum.
I think I am safe in the knowledge that I won't be arrested for libel.

...maybe you will feel safe but that really isn’t any justification for posting any potentially character damaging words...actually, I just googled and with those type of words, even with the presence of ‘my opinion’ or ‘I think’ or etc...it would still be open for libel being laid against...it’s fine that you say that you’re happy because that’s your own choice..but it doesn’t make what anyone else has requested in hoping for proof ...any less correct in expecting and hoping for that proof for those words, however they’re phrased...
