Ontop of this, its kind of common sense that hospitals/care homes would be massive drivers, given how full they are, and the demographics that are most likely to be there to start with.

Hell, at 'normal times' our A&Es here are packed as full as bloody nightclubs, though significantly less fun!

I was reluctant to get my jab from such a big hospital as I’d heard that so many caught Covid in hospital

It honestly baffles me that people could have thought it had dropped to zero or close to zero. Like I don't mean to be offensive but... what goes on in people's heads that would make them see that 0 and think "oh it was actually zero" and not know immediately that it was an error. How do people reach adulthood with seemingly no ability for critical thinking ... of any kind?

if the official figures state a number, people will tend to believe them. They will of course say, wow that's low ... which is exactly what happened. No need to insult half the population
