As the second child of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge she is fourth in line to the throne. On 4th May, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge announced that they would name their child Charlotte Elizabeth Diana. She will be formally known as Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge.

So, they can still call her Diana if they wished.
My Father's name was Joseph.

I have his name as my first name being the last child born.
My Brothers all have Joseph as one of their names too.

Of course they can call her Diana if they wished.
Commemorating Princess Diana isn't the exclusive right of Prince William and Kate.
