It was decent enough, better than all the spin offs, but not as good as the first two
Spoiler:

That would have been a more interesting outcome tbh. I like that they tried to do a different kind of villain but I don't think anything about her worked. She's just too detached from everything that happens aside from the connection to her father.

Spoiler:

Yeah it almost felt like a whodunnit trying to work it out during the film, it would have been a lot more interesting with the girlfriend, she was the same age as the two girls that went missing that could have been the connection there and then the stuff with her own family could have been something else idk I’m not a writer but yeah, it felt a bit like “oh it’s this random woman with no real motive or payoff for doing this

I couldn’t believe how dark it was when I first saw it, must be about 15 years ago now. It’s really, really horrible in parts and I was fully expecting a Grease type deal honestly...

Might watch it again soon actually.

Boogie Nights too I fancy seeing again also, same sort of era (fantastic movie!!)

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It

I really enjoyed it and Vera and Patrick are on form, the other two are better but it's still a great movie and the acting was top notch. It didn't have many jump scares this time either.

A Quiet Place 2

Good but very flawed, nowhere near as good as the original but I did enjoy them showing some of how the whole thing began. The end was lame though.

Spiral

I wish they'd just let Saw die at this point.

Spoiler:

They couldn't make the girlfriend the satanist as it's based on a true story and Arne and Debbie stood by the Warren's in real life.

I also quite liked that the satanist was just a bitch who chose to hurt others, sometimes having no backstop makes for a scarier villain in my opinion, like how they tried to blame abuse for Miachel Myers being a psycho I'm the Rob Zombie Halloween, he was way scarier as just a bloke who decided to kill people no explanation needed.

Spoiler:

A random psycho can be scary, but I don't think it worked in this film, especially when they tried to explain her a little bit at the end. It was like they wanted it both ways, and neither way worked.

Bronson. Really enjoyed it and if I'd known Tom Hardy would be naked for the majority of the film I would have watched it sooner. 9/10

I still can't get on board with The Shape of Water I'm afraid, very heavy Furry vibes there. Like come on lady, that is just an actual fish you are smooching.

….hmmmmm…

Spoiler:

…I believe that she was the same as him, though…she was found by the river as a baby, the river being her home…they both could hear but couldn’t speak because they were not Earth creatures…and they both responded to music because it’s the language that every being and creature understands and responds to…(…I mean that’s fairly well known……)…she had never felt a belonging to the world she lived in since she was found by the river…he re-opened her gills and she ‘was home’ finally….

…anyways, I loved it…..

Yeah I have to say I never noticed any implication that she was actually also a fish lady. That would be OK I suppose.

I just googled it and the suggestion is that she's a hybrid with both human and amphibian-creature ancestry...

So...

SOMEONE human definitely had sex with a fish man .

[edit]Or a fish lady I guess. I bet it was that. Some dirty feller down at the docks seducing the fish women.

…just not wishing to sound a bit basic but….

Spoiler:

…it was always in the water/bath where she found sexual self pleasure…?….that was shown twice because I think that it had meaning that it was in fact in the water…and how she felt that affinity with water…but until she met him, none of it would have made sense…and that showed as well in everything about her…that she was literally a ‘fish out of water..’…her closest friends, though…knew and felt that she was ‘special’ in some way…somehow magical…?…
