ventilators total hmm, hopefully this one won't increase too much, but this is not too bad (i mean my nation in our third wave had a packed ICU/ventilator into 700/800 so from that perspective still some breathing space for doctors/staff anyway)

according to Koopmans, 3% of the new cases is the Delta Variant throughout the nation but in Rotterdam bit more, so according to her the basic simple measures must remain in effect to fight against this new strain of the virus


but she still agrees with government this is the time to relax some measures too otherwise people won't obey rules anyways and that also is not good

Netherlands the tuesdays usual recap of the numbers

last week 36% less new cases than the week before, ICU/Ventilator decreased with over a quarter compared to weeks before, and also hospitalisations total rapidly decreased, but the amount of travellers/holidaygoers testing positive goes up though


between 14 and 20 of June in total 160 new hospitalisations compared to 247 new hospitalisations the week before

32 total new ICU/ventilator patients compared to the total of 43 new the week before

this week 5.714 compared to previous 2 weeks (week before: 8.981 and 2 weeks ago: 14.397 positive tests)


over 8% of the tests has been taken at holidaygoers/travellers, that share was last week 'only' 5,7% but the week before that was around the 1%

in total 471 travellers/holidaygoers got tested positive

they were mostly coming back from Portugal (192) and Spain (107)

according to RIVM it are mainly youth in age group between 17 and 24, they got the call last week too to let themselves get tested even if they had no symptoms


the amount of new deaths again decreased over last week, RIVM registered last week 17 new covid deaths, the week before that were 21 new deaths


% of infected people in Netherlands also decreasing a lot

last week 4.3% of the tests was positive, the week before that was at 5,2%

In Netherlands there are an estimation of 26.000 people contagious for others, the week before that was at 41.684



Saturday our parliament sticks to the relaxing of the remaining measures, no longer there being the face mask compulsory, and no more limitations for group meetings, house visits, the working from home advice is no longer there and almost all events will be allowed again too
