I suppose it's like opening the window when you have air conditioning on... it'll work, but not quite as efficiently. Personally I like a window open...

I used to have ordinary white rads, now they're more like old fashioned cast radiators and we have a couple of upright radiators too, say 2m tall by .75m wide.

We were quite well insulated already although we had a new front door had a new loft lid fitted. It was a bit of an upheaval getting the system fitted but it was really worth it. We have solar panels on the south side of the roof too, so our heating costs are really low.
