I agree, the idea that children under 16 at the very least can be giving true informed consent for hormone treatments is just bizarre. If anyone can show me a 13 year old who can thoroughly and accurately discuss the ideology of gender, I'd be very, very surprised. All they'll be able to do is parrot things they've heard from older people, or from peers who heard it from older people. Fine when we're talking about a bit of experimenting with dressing and haircuts - Really extremely worrying when we're talking about things that will physically affect them for the rest of their lives.
