the government probably didnt help the situation, but there is personal responsibility at social care level for not acting in the face of obvious concern from relatives and neighbours

A social worker rang LBC yesterday and said that standard protocols were not followed, if a family member raises concern and there is bruising particularly in an area where bruising would not normally be found i.e the back...Arthur should have been seen on the same day as the home visit by a paediatrician,..

That clearly did not happen...she asked Arthur and Tustin’s son how safe they felt 0 being the floor and 10 being the ceiling...they both pointed to the ceiling..and that was apparently all she needed to know ....

I agree,if you are a social worker your ward should come first over anything, you cant blame Boris or the government for someone failing to do their job, social workers were at the house ,his injuries were reported, social services failed ,to blame anyone else is a poor way to have a pop at the government, those at fault were the dad and stepmother, and the social services who were involved .

Nobody said it is an easy job, but it looks like this one did not follow procedure

No its not an easy job Cherie,it must be emotional at times, these social workers were in his home and did not pick up on the signs where it seems plenty was given,so i put it down to complacency and this little boy sufferered for it, we had the same with baby P, Victoria Climbe and various others.

Boris acting like he is on some crusade against social workers when it's him and his government's cuts that have likely fostered the conditions where a tragedy like this can go overlooked is disgusting.

If people want a better standard of social care, get angry at the government and ensure they give it the resources social care needs to fully function properly.
I agree that the Government should be giving out more funding.

To me I just don't get the point of having Social Services if they're not allowed to do their job?
